Well, i got mine about 5.5 ish years now, also today I drove the Yaris 5 Hybrid (to get Brötchen for where my dad works because I also was there today to fix my cars cooler thermostat and do some body repairs as well as oil change)

Well, fun to drive yes. Ecologically the batteries are not the best tho, also range (the 2002 VW Lupo 3L gets about 1000km of range), still too little charging infrastructure in many parts of germany, hard to put out if burning. Personally I think a mix between burner and electric is best
