Things you love to see. Tommy Ten Names gets his arse handed to him by Ty Mitchell. Ty was well able for Tommy, both verbally and physically. Shame he didn't deck him.

As if Harold Wilson's government achieving major social modernization by abolishing the death penalty, decriminalizing homosexuality, liberalizing abortion and divorce laws establishing the Open University etc never happened.

Seconded. Anonymous piece of cowardly shit.

Why don't you use your real name? Is it so you can treat others crudely while you are treated gingerly?

I paraphrase. Spike Milligan and comrades on patrol during WWII. They come across a ruined Roman aqueduct. 'Cor, Jerry didn't 'alf bomb that!" says one. 'He was never commissioned' Spike writes.

From a John Simpson post: Andy Serkis has remade Orwell’s stark fable ‘Animal Farm’ — only he says he’s made it ‘accessible’ (as though it wasn’t already), not ‘overtly political’ (could that have the slightest value?), and ‘suitable for a modern audience’ (his version has a happy ending).

Evelyn Waugh on hearing that Randolph Churchill had a non-malignant tumor removed from his person: "It was a typical triumph of modern science to find the only part of Randolph that was not malignant and remove it."

King John - Henry III - Edward I - Edward II - Edward III is the longest I can think of.

The trailer is insane in more ways than one; and what a modern audience needs is the overtly political story that Orwell intended.

And at the end of the search you realise little Wally is more tooled up than a captain in the Gambino family (That's meant to be a kid's bedroom?)

There's also the governing body of the Mafia - The Commission; in 1950s London the infamous Krays and their gang were called The Firm.

My wife and I stayed in a County Wexford B&B that looked exactly like this, but included mink pelts (with heads) draped over the backs of the armchairs.

Teaching in Italy c1998 remember watching football on TV. Top and bottom thirds of the screen were a ticker tape of adverts. The middle third was the football unless the ball went out of play then a 3 second advert for rugs took over the screen. All owned by Berlusconi: Trump before Trump.

He took Alf Garnett literally. There's no doubt about it. This speaks to a wider point. It's obvious the subtleties and subjectivity of any art form are beyond his ken and of no interest to him.
