You need the money, Prime Minister- Canada needs WMDs to keep you safe from the lunatics to the south of you, and money to cover an independent national security strategy. Operation Queenston Heights.

And not everyone can spell “Confucius” correctly either, it seems! 😅

I had to do a bit of sleuthing, but less than a minute’s worth.

I’m very happy for your recovery, and I might advise you to choose a different image for your three mile walk for privacy’s sake. A photo of the sky, a tree, a flower? Because I, a complete stranger from the US, now know what town and road you live in. Not chiding, just want you to stay safe online!

History is my passion, and I genuinely cannot think of a more potent mixture of stupidity, cruelty, and silliness in all of human history. He’s got all the self-control of Idi Amin and the narcissism of Nero mixed the cultural acumen and class of a gross 10 year old boy.

Not the prettiest plate of food but from the description it sounds divine! If I may suggest, I find watercress salad to be fabulous with duck- it also gives a lovely pop of green to a plate.

The first German concentration camps were very much in Germany. The death camps were primarily in the General Government of Poland during the war.

Thank you China for continuing to advance humanity’s scientific prowess! Thank you, heroic workers and engineers and taikonauts of the Chinese space programme!

I realise the question presumes you have read “Through a Distant Mirror” but given your interests I’d be a touch surprised if you hadn’t, though if so, please do feel free to disregard my inquiry.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but what does this book offer that “Through a Distant Mirror” doesn’t? I have no doubt that Helen Carr is a lovely writer, but she follows in the footsteps of Barbara Tuchman and those are no easy shoes to fill.

I did not see thy handle, and for a time thought “Forsooth this bitch knoweth not how to spell, yet in a very singular way”. Then I laid mine eyes upon thy Bluesky handle and all was made right once again. I have followed thee, and thank thee greatly.
