Amazingly I have at least one plan on the calendar for an actually cool event at a reasonable price (Slide Away fest in Chicago), and I hope it's not some kind of crazy mirage.

And too many bands I like are "pay us $100 to have sore knees from standing around with GA SRO tickets" or worse, "pay us $400 for second-hand nosebleed seats from a shady reseller" and yeah, I'm not dumb enough to fall for either of those rackets.

I'm not surprised FIFA fucked the World Cup into the ground in several ways, but it would've been nice to enjoy a matchup here in the States or Canada... but between ticket prices, mostly shitty venues, Trump wildin' out, and just the general skeeze level, that's gonna be a no from me.

So true. My local Taco Bell is the most convivial pan-ethnic cross-generational space in my neighborhood, even if it’s a little dysfunctional. And I once saw one of its managers literally punch a Nazi. #LiveMas

Notably my second fave movie experience is also in Toronto. Stumbled across a late night showing of THE ROOM at the Carlton Cinema (on the way “home” from an abysmal boring Leafs game). Been to many Room showings but this crowd was dialed in and peak Canadian polite in cleaning up after themselves.

Yeah, the transfer experience is just all around not great. Too many crossings of nasty anti-pedestrian arterials, too few shelters. There were promises of improvements with the redesign but I’ve seen a whole lot of nothing at the stops I use.
