Oh yeah if they were sick that's different. The other similar winter-related fun we had was when they would close campus for a snow day about 5 minutes after I'd left home (30 minutes into my classmate's trip). Ah, the joys of commuting. 🙃

I’ve been there. I had a talk with one of my profs one day after we had a short 5 minute 8am class just to hand out papers, that was my only Friday class. I drove 45 mins and I knew at least one classmate who drove 90 mins through ice and snow to be there.

The rest of the world is so polite to us barely-know-one-language people.

Is the standard to use English variables too? (and comments?) I had never thought about that and realize i've never read code from someone who didn't speak English as their first language.

I can say the same. I didn't start writing anything serious until our next computer (a Kaypro PC-01) but my very first programming was done on a TI-99/4A hooked up to the living room TV.

Great interview! When Amanda said, "You are the only person who has ever heard my idea of this and ever thought that it had any water" that was a perfect illustration of the importance of the work she does. Thanks for using your influence for good, Matt.

If that doesn't work out, you have lots of experience signing your name. You'd be perfect for some sort of "Grant writing" position.

Your comments on the emotional readiness of leaving the other platform really resonated with me. I'm not ready to move on completely, but it's time to set up the other accounts.
