Got out snow shoeing in this beautiful place yesterday! Perfect year-end-cap for my outdoor activities!

I did not expect to find a frozen pond/lake. (When does a pond become a lake?)

Lincoln Highway (Historic Route 40) snakes it way through my part of the world. I often see references to it in the areas I go hiking! Fascinating to learn it took until the 1920s to pave most of it!

I was wondering if there were any open source systems for maintaining my Xbox 360's functionality as MS slowly shuts down services. This was the only one I could find!

Great story around conservation, climate change, and balancing systemic needs. Also includes bears and beautiful scenery.

TIL XFS has disabled online discard. Normally not a problem since most operating systems issue batch discards on `fstab` volumes once a week.

When using #longhorn on #kubernetes with XFS or ext4 these are not regularly discarded.

I was interested in the minimum viable application to use ollama with MCP servers! `marvin` is the result of that exploration!

My key take away is prompts and queries matter as much as models and tools.

I don't feel it's accurate but still flattering to be considered up there with the top 1st percentile of Go engineers.

I #built a workbench to play with #ollama + #mcp servers. Today I tried to improve it's capability to resolve a question I had...and got it to quit super easily.

Would be honored if you checked out this early project!

Have to hand it to a lot of these system-as-an-image type systems have much better interfaces for editing things. I'm wondering if more traditional languages will adopt something closer. Hoping IDEs become a lot more awesome!

Hardest interview question I seem to ask is: What do you do for fun?

Correct answer is authenticity! As long as we remain in the professional context I'm just interested in seeing passion.

Some kids draw when they are board in school. I wrote code at the time. It was Java. Never thought those skills would be useful. Let alone in an interview.

I'm excited about Postgres 18 ! Looks like a lot of awesome optimization work.

Though I think OAuth support has the greatest impact for using on Kubernetes! I wonder how long before guides get published to integrate!

BART arrived at Richmond Amtrak station 4 minutes after Capital Corridor. First time for a few people.

They thought they were out the cost of the tickets and couldn't get to their destination.

Luckily CC tickets are typically honored all day. Let them know and help them find their arrival times.

espHome is awesome! I recommend using the Arduino framework to get started since some components fail to compile with IDF though.

My outdoor sensor now uses the Arduino framework.

Camping practice! We'll stay cool if it's sunny and dry if wet. Great expansion of my skills despite being a Scoutmaster for like 10 years.

Relationship test passed with flying colors!
