Hi folks,
So my sister is a zookeeper and takes care of the birds. She often sends pictures.

This is Baked Beans. He is a baby screech owl and is being raised for the zoo's ambassador bird program.
I would die for Beans.

A very small, unbelievably cute screech owl baby. He's old enough that his feathers have recently come in but he's still developing his adult coloration. He has enormous dark eyes and a light brown mask around them. His belly is a wavy pattern of white and light brown. You can't see it, but his back is a little darker, the color of baked beans, which gave him his name. He sits in the corner of a painted cinder block room on top of towels on the floor, with a water bowl next to him

In the calm ocean behind the kids, there's some floating driftwood, and far in the distance, a large ship. Beyond that are some really beautiful flowing clouds, with the snow-covered Olympic mountains peeking through.

went to a par-tay…had to save up spoons for a loooong time. ended up meeting a fellow spoonie and we hid in a closet chatting =). it was a fun gathering of old friends and nice to meet some new ones.
