Well, our 2026 tornado count is off and running. The good news is the rain that is falling. This should help just a bit in some of those worst-hit drought areas, even if it just settles the dust for awhile. Watch for snow in NW on Friday! ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Winter is the driest part of the year in Oklahoma, but this is ridiculous! The good news is we have a good chance of rain on Wednesday/Thursday. Maybe some severe weather to go with it. Bring it on, we need the rain! ticker.mesonet.org #okwx #okmesonet

Barring a miraculous cold front or downpour before midnight, December 2025 is gonna finish as the 5th-warmest statewide across Oklahoma (5 deg. above normal), and the 2nd-driest (2 in. below normal). It was THE driest for east central and northeast Oklahoma. #okwx #okmesonet

The Mesonet sites at Beaver and Eva tied Buffalo, Frederick, and Hollis (all from 1939) for the highest temperature ever recorded on a Dec. 11 in Oklahoma, dating back to the 1880s. Several other sites also broke their location's records as well. #okwx #okmesonet
