whether the end user is a DC operator or a residential consumer is not the basis over which the utility provider plans their base load gen and the DC provider has no control over what the demand is across the rest of the grid, which the utility provider has to balance

incorporating indirect water usage is a clear sign of the modelers trying to find ways to juice their numbers - cooling for base load generation is not a property that can be proportionally attributed to end users because it varies more closely with installed capacity than instantaneous load

im going to assume their compute spend is categorized under “cost of revenue” in their q1’23 financials, which was $26m, so maybe $100m a year? seems like a lot. fat aws margins
