Rational: I had to migrate some emails the last days and today a domain transfer broke emails (cause I missed setting up the MX record on the new DNS provider...). That should be so easy monitor with Prometheus.

Is anyone aware of a end to end monitoring pipeline for email?

Like send an email every minute with a timestamp via SMTP and then use IMAP to read back the latest email and report that last seen timestamp.
Would be similiar to blackbox exporter but for emails.
