but then you have to play world of warcraft which is a unique kind of torment and also the encounter design in world of warcraft is really just not our thing.

sometimes we think about trying wow again because it has some elements we wish were in xiv, which still does not really have a good answer to stuff like mythic+ and the lack of specs can make some jobs feel more limited than they should be (paladin should be able to be a dps or healer if they want!)

like the actions in eureka/bozja/occult crescent that let you augment your job to do things like turn a dark knight into a terrifying dps, or the original incarnation of summoner where titan-egi could solo tank ramuh, or astrologian when it was a heavily rng-based job, or everything about blue mage.

um, rambling. there are just lots of things xiv does currently in limited parts of the game or has done in the past and removed for balance that would be really neat to mess around with in a smaller sort of game someday.

tab target games kinda just strike that sweet spot between turn-based and full action. we never really feel satisfied with a lot of the action mmos we have tried, and turn-based is, well, turn-based.

there is a lot of stuff ffxiv can not get away with in the name of balance since the game has to work across a decade of content spanning 100 levels and multiple modes of play, you know..?

doing palace of the dead in ffxiv with our partner and trying to level all of the jobs keeps making us want more of this style of game but with less of the restrictions placed on it from being an mmo. like if rabbit & steel is distilled raiding, this hypothetical game is distilled deep dungeons.

pluralkit uses webhooks to proxy messages which have a lot of really unfortunate limitations, so this is the best they can do, alas..
