If Trump and his acolytes did not call themselves "Republicans", it would often be hard to determine which party they actually belong to.

The difference between autocracy and democracy is the story told to legitimize those in power. #NoKings may reject a monarchy, but only in form, not function. The ruling class consolidates authority, regardless of the mechanism.
What they reject is not "rule by one", but rule by the wrong one.
