Their biggest/best manual was the Ambassador. It was $265.00 in 1966, and adjusted would be $2,706.67! The small Rocket was just $54.95 or $561.25. Most of these machines are worth anywhere from $200 to $500 based on condition, and sometimes can be found at thrift stores for much less currently.

Also here's a price listing from the mid 60s. Adjusted for inflation, $139.50 in 1966 would be $1,424.83. These were considered some of the best, and were higher-end portables of the era. This price range was still within the normal boundaries for a luxury typewriter.

I've become fond of cubic typefaces for my typewriter collection. Tempo/Techno/Senatorial/Cubic are all in the family. I recently was able to scan an original guidebook for Hermes, and actually do own a few Techno Elite Hermes 3000 machines. Absolutely a favorite of mine.
