Several sites have provisionally set new January daily rainfall records, some are shown in the table below 👇

Katesbridge has provisionally recorded its wettest day on record, while Plymouth (Mountbatten) also saw a notable record at a site with over 100 years of observations
A table showing a selection of sites which have set a new record for the amount of rain to fall within a day in January. Very wet and windy this morning as #StormChandra tracks north into Ireland bringing severe gales to the Irish Sea and parts of Northern Ireland ⚠️

Snow on some northern hills and feeling cold here, but turning somewhat brighter and milder in the southwest with heavy showers 🌦️

#StormChandra will bring severe gales to some areas on Tuesday with the strongest winds in the west ⚠️

An amber rain warning is now in effect across parts of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset and will remain in place into Tuesday morning.

Increasingly heavy rain on saturated ground will lead to flooding in places. Be prepared for some disruption ⚠️
