MD. Trying to navigate kids in school, family member on chemo, when everyone else is done with covid.
Agree, but at least some other kids are hearing a similar message about drugs and alcohol from parents at home... I'm the only parent around suggesting to try to avoid covid. It's so hard and fitting in is so important at this age

My kids wore masks longer than any others, but it's (too?) hard being the only kid in high school... And when they see other kids with doctor parents who aren't concerned, no data I can provide competes!

What are parents of teenagers to do?

Please push back loudly against the chronic absenteeism propaganda. It’s absence. It’s absence due to illness. That is the no 1 reason for kids missing school. A big driver of that is that buses and school buildings are not safe/healthy for kids or workers. Everyone in school deserves healthy air.

I don't understand why they are all doing the same thing.

Had to complete an infection precautions training module for my institution... I kept getting answers wrong because I kept answering n95 mask for everything.

😷The real scandal isn’t masks - it’s how many people need them and are denied cultural permission to use them without ridicule.

It shows a culture deeply rooted in ableism. Disabled people had reinforced (again) that adaptions are not normalised, they are stigmatised. /13

Where do you see the wastewater now? ED wait times are already really long. (Wonder how that correlates: Waste water versus ED wait times.)

Unsurprisingly, masks decrease the infection rate substantially in the ED.

Indeed you'd think a grocery store stocker (or my mom) could help then avoid this... New stuff at the back, send out the older stuff first.

Years ago peds GI would do these in ED with a foley.🥺

So if one has teenagers, really nothing can be done except hope *mine* don't get it too bad?
