Purely anime as of now for my BangDream exposure but I'm open to reading the game stories

There's one line about a character being odd/quirky and how that causes troubled with old friends but we never to see her exhibit that personality so it always felt like we only got a small part of a bigger picture

It's so fun to read him criticize Sei because he's not wholly wrong about the path that will be caused by the unification of China but he himself is just the biggest scumbag that is so focused on monetary gain with no faith in the decency of human beings

It's definitely a hard line to walk when you're dealing with a time loop mechanic and also want to avoid going hard in the other direction
