'Random acts of kindness' front—thank you. I read your poem, then I scrolled to the whole issue and found a poem from one of my Philly poet circle members from ages ago. I'd lost (sadness) or lost track of (dead computer, shuttered email domain) my group. Now I'm on the (happy) hunt to reconnect!

With crossbows, we fire lines towards the maw.
With magecraft, we hurl words into the dark.
We yield—the ed’s choice is the rule of law.
Yet we still submit, hope we’ve hit the mark.

(Maybe we should try rams or trebuchets.)

"How do I write a poem about resilience—
how many times will I be asked to write a poem,
a song, a prayer, a sermon,
a land acknowledgment, an obituary—
about resilience?"
