I think that’s part of the cringe, feels like she’s trying to get credibility with Rogan-esque audiences, which, embarrassing. and yeah vice signaling does seem appropriate. Don’t worry, you closeted bigots are safe with me!

It feels like another instance of this AI mania where if it CAN do something, then that something will be built in even if it makes the user experience worse. They think it’s “cooler” to hear a human voice but they clearly haven’t thought through whether people will actually prefer that or not

Would never. That show pisses me off—its only goal seems to be raising BP on both sides, otherwise why would they keep Jennings on the payroll? Surely they could find a conservative who would argue in more good faith, but that’s not good tv. Makes me sick with this much at stake.

Right totally. A train coming at you 80 miles an hour though…if you’re looking both ways around a curve… 🤷♀️ the article referenced a lot of addressable safety concerns that no one appears interested in addressing, doesn’t bode well for any new rail projects associated w Brightline

You should check out the New Yorker article about Brightline—it’s wild. One would have to assume it’s not this simple if this ONE line is killing people at a rate that way exceeds any other train line in the US

When I insisted it said “there IS a way to talk to a human” like if you need to or something. These companies think the human voice makes the ai grate less, but the monotone quality REALLY sounds like condescension in a way my brain isn’t fully able to distinguish from reality

Hell yes—I was introduced to this album at 17 and literally never heard another soul reference it again until now—would’ve imagined it a fever dream if I didn’t still have a burned cd of it. This is the last place and time I would’ve expected to finally see an external reference 😂
