December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada. This day marks the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.

Last week, Area 2 Council members had a hot chocolate station at the Dauphin Parade of Lights!

They handed out all the essentials for a holiday parade: sugar cookies, candy canes, and hot chocolate.

Yesterday, members of the NCN Family & Community Wellness Centre ratified a new 4-year agreement!

Highlights of the agreement include

- significant wage increases
- a new evening premium
- a remoteness allowance to match the provincial government

This week, Western Manitoba Regional Library ratified a new 4-year collective agreement!

Highlights of the agreement include:

- general wage increases
- an increase to the health spending account
- employer paid wellness days
- improvements to full-time/overtime requirements

Today, on the Transgender Day of Remembrance, we raised the Transgender and Two-Spirit flag as a promise to keep showing up and supporting trans and two-spirit people with respect and solidarity.
