That feels... adjacent, anyway, to the plot for all the X-COM games.

Paging Ashley Johnson...

I can hear it in his breathing in the first half of the video. He's short of breath not because he's cold but because he's holding onto his calm with every fibre of his being, in order to clearly convey the story of what happened. What's the saying? Beware the fury of a patient man?

...into it. Don't expect anything in return, just do that good turn because it deserves doing. Set the example for the next person to follow. Be kind. Be considerate.

Maybe this feels reductive? But the youth group I volunteer with espouses these values. And it was just delightful to see the... 3/4

...suddenly on their best behaviour after having interacted with him. Definitely goes a long way to show what kind of an influence we can have on others by our mere presence.

Sure, Santa's a special case. But if you'd like to see a kinder world, start by putting a little bit of kindness out... 2/4

Just double-checked. It's in fact Kyle who calls out to Robert. Who is only ever referred to as "Robert Smith" or "Robert Smith Of The Cure" throughout the episode.

The story goes that when they sent Robert Smith his lines to record, he was given no context to work with whatsoever (not that it would've helped), and he was game to spend the ten minutes on this goofy juvenile show, and so we're left the wildest cameo ever.

It's first season, if I recall. Barbra Streisand turns into a destructive giant mecha of herself, so the gang calls on Robert Smith and Sidney Poitier to become kaiju of themselves to defeat her. When Robert leaves, Stan shouts "Disintegration is the best album ever" to him.

I bought it as a joke, because of that South Park gag. Then I sat down with it with my headphones on and was just blown away. I don't think there's another record in my (admittedly not large, ~100 albums) collection that I wouldn't skip a song on.

I thought Disintegration was the best album ever? And that, for sure, is red hot bangs from start to finish and only a fool would think otherwise. Am I heading off to eBay for another Cure CD?

More like Snorway.

Hey, I just picked up Night Watch from the library last week! What timing!

It's absolutely crystal clear in my mind, and probably nothing like what it actually was. I'm imagining either some Rockwell-style industriousness with some details peppered in exposing the exhaustion, or photojournalist-style, fallen asleep against a dryer, Franklin's 2' wide head in the lap.

Grew up in eastern Canada with parents who were picky about grammar, so I agree with both of you? (It's the US pronunciation, and it's wrong) Which is odd, because if I understand correctly, the English pronounce valet "vallit," which is also wrong.

Regional pronunciations, hooray! :)

First rule of humane management. "Do you have a minute" MUST be following by at least "it's nothing bad" if it is, indeed, nothing bad.

Ack! Yeah, that's definitely an effective way to find that out! I've been very careful about power bars for the last 20 years as a result of my own foolishness.
