I'm not proposing that Nebraska is the origin of life on Earth but I would like to point out that there are a number of alkaline lakes in western Nebraska. Does anyone know if they are high in phosphate?

Maxfield Parrish illustrated his undergrad chemistry lab reports in 1890! Long before he was widely known as an artist, Maxfield Parrish was an undergraduate at Haverford College in Pennsylvania. Twenty years after he graduated with a history degree, he donated his notebook to his alma mater.
