I’ve been wondering if Trump is trying to get the US kicked out of NATO. Putin would love that, and we know Trump loves Putin.
But it wouldn’t necessarily mean the end of NATO, just that NATO would move on without the US. For now. Maybe even become more solid.

So when Trump and Rubio say Venezuela must comply with US demands or face further attack, and point to the US naval buildup as a source of coercive leverage, it's just as much a breach of the UN Charter as the operation to seize Maduro was.
It's brazen lawlessness that only Congress can stop.

I think because it’s a legitimate option, and the right thing to do - whether or not it’s doable in the current circumstances.

Big power diplomacy… It’s so nuanced, sophisticated and subtle. You can’t help but admire. That’s why they leave it to the experts. It’s not a job for amateurs.
