Made myself do some work today. Hard going but kind of worth it to keep the rust off, I spose 🤨

Christmas Day comes in!
So much hope, full of good cheer,
Warmed by a crackling fire.

Darkness has fallen on Christmas Eve. No turning back now. We’re going in!

It’s actually properly cold outside. Won’t be a white Christmas but it looks set to be a chilly one at least! 🧣🧣🧣

Top of the table at Christmas! That will do. When was the last time that happened? #Arsenal

I really like Kylie! But - I’m sorry - her song XMAS is shite… 😟

People that use ‘please’ as an order… I hate that!

Major #Christmas challenge: getting the tree to look straight from all sides. Nearly impossible! 🎄🤨🎄

Finished watching The Haunting of Bly Manor. Difficult to assess… some episodes (middle ones) absolutely excellent, others (mainly the early ones) pretty flat. At the end - OK. So overall, it was good - but could have been even better…

Does anyone else have ‘folding wars’ with their partners?? I don’t like the way my wife folds clothes; she doesn’t like the way I do it. We just seem hard wired to do it differently! Admittedly, in the scheme of things, this is a minor issue 🤨

Is beyond the pale behaviour/deviancy/violence getting more common, or is it just being reported more? This one is just the latest unbelievable example, following the nursery worker of a couple of days ago plus all the knife attackers and other maniacs etc… 😟

For such a manically trailed and leaked #Budget, with endless speculation in the run-up, it was actually a pretty dull one by the look of it!

It’s just disgraceful that the US hasn’t sent a delegation to COP30. An absolute act of vandalism. Possibly the very worst of the many awful things Trump is responsible for.

Starting out on Kafka’s The Castle. Excited. Opening pages are great - a continual sense of the strange and surreal from the outset. Metamorphosis is without doubt one of the greatest things I’ve ever read, so high expectations here too! #writingcommunity

Real kind of low battery day. Sometimes you’ve just got to put up with them and wait for your mood to pick up again. It happens eventually! 👊

Finished reading The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan. A really good book, often powerful and moving. Didn’t find it to be the great masterpiece some say it is, but nevertheless a fine novel. #writingcommunity
