Day 22 - very nice nose and taste. Finished in something nice sherry maybe Fino. High abv. Could be NAS or about a 15yo. If nas maybe a Kavalan. This is really spectacular! 57% NAS from Scotland Ardnamurchan which I have not heard of before finished in champagne casks. This is really damn nice!

Resurrection of this thread. Christmas got busy and then easing into the year!

Day 21 - Bourbon-y but very different. Is this American or newer casked Scottish. Heavy abv 50-ish. I think Scottish but not sure where. Sigh done in again by the SA whisky! Grain at 55% with lots of bourbon aging. Definitely enjoyable.

Day 20 - Sherry! Feels a bit young/rough on the edges. Maybe higher abv. The sherry is great. Going to say Speyside as an easy guess possibly a NAS . Ok got the sherry and NAS but country is far off! Definitely love the sherry. Kavalan do their sherry well!

Day 19 - very drinkable feels burbon cask ish maybe a bit of sherry. 46% with maybe an age of 10 or 12. Probably going speyside. Oooh old Pultney I do enjoy that. Felt a bit familiar but would never have guessed it
December 28, 2024 at 6:00 PM
Day 18 - Sherry higher abv but possibly younger age. Not sure if scotch could be some where else. Ah I have never heard of this before. 55% I should have done with some water because with the water the scotch sherry comes through more. That is good!

Day 17 - Islay! Smokey goodness. Ardbeg or maybe kilchoman. 43% maybe NAS. Oooh damn Coal ila I have not had for a while. That is good stuff!

Day 16 - more abv 46-ish, nice finish but maybe not Scottish. NAS. Could not place it definitely some sherry. Hint of tobacco. I like this one. Ah wow this is a new one for me. 50/50 malt grain blend that was good. Misjudged the abv.

Day 15 - 46-ish or maybe younger. Not an easy placement maybe hints of sherry possible a bit salty. Not much more to guess than that. Ah ok Mille and Honey definitely could not place it tasty

Day 14 - more ABV than standard between 46-50. Some sherry in it. Really enjoyed. Scotland but about it. Interesting not sure I have had a Glengoyne before this was very tasty. Probably ranked 2 or 3 based on what has been tasted before

Day 13 -sherry in there but something else. Maybe a bit of peat or smoke but little, 43 and NAS. Maybe a blend. I think Scottish but past that not super sure. Ah ok Jura seven wood. Explains the different flavours. Did get the hint of peat. Decent dram!

Day 12 - (Delayed had a wedding so lagging got some catching up) sherry, 43, guessed 10 or 12 yo. Finish was not my favourite. Region I was not sure due to the finish. Glenlivet 12 I have not had this for a while not super outstanding imo
December 16, 2024 at 7:24 PM
Day 11 - Sherry, higher than 43%, sweet tasty sherry. Not sure about region educated guess Speyside but that is just because of the sherry there. Bang Glen Scotia Double Cask 46% ex bourbon and then 12 months in px. This is really nice! One of my favourites so far.

Day 10 - Heavy New Make smell. All the abv this must be 60+. Not a great finish. Can’t place this at all a bit earthy smell once there is some water. Ok yep 5 months old, 64%, South African and “Malt Spirit”. In its current form I am not really a fan
December 10, 2024 at 6:18 PM
Day 9 - Peeeaaat age guessed between 5-10, Islay, 43 maybe 46, Ardbeg or Kilchoman. Nope! laphroaig 10. The finish is different to what I remember but that peat is great
December 9, 2024 at 6:30 PM
Day 8 - Definitely bourbon, quite high abv little aggressive on the end but great, really nice bourbon! 1792 Burbon 49.3 % (cask strength) nice!
December 9, 2024 at 6:27 PM
Day 7 - Smells a bit smokey but also the finish not very resolved. Can’t place where or who might think it is. Quite a confused whisky. Umiki Japanese blend which I have not heard of 46% malt and grain blend. Not really my favourite

‪Day 6 - Peaty, 43-46%, hint of smokey, Scottish/islay. Aaaand it is South African 🤣 Boplaas 8yo single cask. Tawny port cask so a has a hint of sweetness. ‬
December 6, 2024 at 6:23 PM
Day 5 - Very light colour, oak, probably burbon oak, very smokey so makes me think Islay but can’t place it. Ooh nope Loch Lomond Smoke and Fire. Very enjoyable!

I was sure I recognised it. And with all the Monday evenings we had it I should have remembered it 😂😂
December 5, 2024 at 5:50 AM
Day 4 - The high abv threw me I thought something medicinal so was thinking Islay. Super light colour. Very tasty
