Our community-run art gallery flooded. Building management will get the space back into habitable condition, but we lost a bunch of stuff and we're closed for who knows how long.

We're a tiny volunteer org that spends like $20K a year, so a $3,000 emergency is a big problem. Please help us out:

There's a video going viral in Chicago right now by a guy claiming large scale raids will start around 2AM in specific neighborhoods. It's BS. The person who posted it has a checkered history of false claims to try to gain followers and drum up business for a private security company he runs.

With credible reports that there will soon be a major increase in federal immigration enforcement activity in Chicago, I want to once again highlight the Family Support Network - a rapid response resource run by the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR). Use it if you spot ICE.

People are melting down at a Tribune article about CHSD 230 considering adding Arabic to its language learning electives. I wasted time in the comments, which I normally avoid doing since it's useless and awful, but it led to possibly the funniest thing anybody's ever said to me about France.

Please join us the evening of Saturday, April 26th at the Block House Gallery in Pullman as we spotlight Robert's work. Food and drink will be provided!

Robert deserves wider recognition in Chicago's art scenes than he has right now, and we're doing everything we can to bring people to his work.

Some of my colleagues took all the known known info about the extent of DOGE access to federal government data about people, and made a super approachable tool to answer the question "What does DOGE know about you?"

As DOGE's known data access evolves, this tool will be continually updated.
Quiz: What Does DOGE Know About You?
The Department of Government Efficiency has unauthorized access to millions of Americans’ data. Take New America’s quiz to see how much of your data is at risk.
