Mason and Silas are both secretive characters by nature, and are involved in something inherently dangerous, inherently evil, and shady AF. They take the reader on quite the journey, and I'm already eagerly anticipating the next book.

The puns, the banter, the swings & misses, the joy, sometimes the sheer ridiculousness of Brad's gym-bro golden retriever enthusiasm was so much fun to read. I felt happy the whole time I was reading this, & it can be such a precious gift that an author is able to engage the reader in such a way.

I can feel the corduroy of the orange/brown sofas, smell the librarian's perfume & sense the magic of all words & worlds built housed within. It was a safe place. If I could be go back in time to a single place, that library would be at the top of my list.
