I don't doubt heavy Scottish involvement but England was clearly the controlling power. The UK retains a neoimperial empire due to it maintenance of financial links to its former colonies and its ability to impose itself on poorer countries due to its wealth and allies.

A few differences. The British flag has overseen the massacre of millions of people. The flag itself incorporates the flag of a settler-colony. The Palestinian flag is thslat if a people oppressed by the evil the British flag represents and of the British thenselves.
