Oh yeah, the still with the ice water pool at the top! These people are all so into their calling, it’s amazing.

Yes, there does seem to be a sense of common purpose that would come from that.

And I was totally blown away by the dude who ground his own wheat to make noodles!!

I really like this one. It’s often ludicrous and very over the top, but unlike some other ’reality’ shows, everyone seems polite and supportive to each other. Maybe that’s a Korean thing, I don’t know. But I’m pretty hooked on it.

That’s very cool.
Also, the lyrics of ‘Pinball Wizard’ can be sung to the tune of ‘Folsom Prison Blues’. It’s a perfect fit.

I agree with the New Yorker. It was one of my best reads of the year.

This is truly beautiful.

Yes, that what I thought you were saying. And I’m pleased to see it.

I assume many people have already said this, but this feels like Albanese is having a “John Howard” moment, in taking tangible gun control steps. We can do without the empty rhetoric you refer to.

I hear ya. I used to buy a Chilean pinot mainly because it had a cool bicycle on the label. Yes, sad, I know.

These are the incoherent ramblings of someone with dementia, no question.
December 10, 2025 at 7:26 AM
I can answer that for you, but first you might like to hear my back story...

Ha ha - there are days when I feel I need a wheel alignment- and I’m not talking about my car 😄
December 9, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Wow, that’s a thing of beauty!

And I’m referring to the Queensland lungfish of course.

I was lucky enough to recently see one of these swim by, close to the edge of the lake near my home. It wasn’t the full 1.5m, but easily a metre long. Just gliding peacefully in the shallow water. Thrilling to see.

Well done. It’s so difficult to remove plastic use entirely from everyday life, so all those steps are really valuable.
December 8, 2025 at 9:57 AM
That’ll do it.

Its creationists oldest and weakest argument, deliberately conflating ’theory’ with ‘hypothesis’.

Remember, when you go to music school, you study the theory of music. This does not mean that we are still unsure if there really is such a thing as music.

Exactly. They will still make their way into the environment (and our bloodstream) anyway. A filter is pointless. Plastic production and use needs to be drastically reduced.

What a treasure. Bound to bring good luck.

First, let’s use accurate language. “Cleared” implies improvement. “Deforested” better describes this.
Second, there are huge areas in Qld that were deforested but have never had crops or grazing. All this does is create drought and erosion. Wasteful destruction like this should carry big penalties.

Heartbreaking to watch the USA fall so rapidly into a failed criminal state. Thoroughly broken and likely to never return to being a functioning democracy acting by the rule of law.

Bliss!
