Reminds me of an old George Carlin insight (paraphrasing):
“When fascism comes to America, it will not be in brown and black shirts. It will not be with jack-boots. It will be Nike sneakers and smiley faced t-shirts.” He did not foresee the red ball caps, but he was close enough.
