A few weeks ago I was honored to receive as a gift a beautiful icon from the Ukrainian artists Oleksandr Klymenko and Sofia Atlantova, who "write" Orthodox icons on the discarded lids of ammunition boxes from the war in Ukraine. Slava Ukraini.

Very sad to hear about the death of Willie Walsh.

He was a man of extraordinary integrity, of boundless compassion and great humility

He lived his faith with courage, love and conviction. He challenged power on that basis when few others did.

One of the finest people I’ve ever known.

Honouring my mentor and my mate Paddy Barclay.

He brought joyousness, debate, heart, intellect, opinion, curiosity, hilarity and friendship to football and life.

A dazzling writer, a delight to be around. Rest peacefully. X

It was a joy to be able to write this week’s soul food reflection for the Irish Spiritan website. The Visitation is one my favourite Gospel accounts, for a short passage it covers so much from family, love and faith to helping and encouraging others spiritan.ie/reflections/...
