This is history of real estate prices on Manhattan’s west side since 1960s: 1) gay men move in, make neighborhood safe. 2) prices go up. 3) families move to newly safe neighborhood. 4) prices go up. 5) neighborhood now unaffordable for young gay men. Find new neighborhood. repeat.
