While I am on the subject of AI, here is my hot take as someone who is unapologetic about using it for performing certain tasks…

If AI starts actively using ellipses instead of em-dashes I am, as the kids say, cooked.

Of all the things I have dealt with post-cancer/Whipple surgery the recent and worsening neuropathy has been the hardest to deal with. Randomly feeling like you are having 1000 volts of electricity run UNDER your skin and up into your face and hands is decidedly unpleasant.

As an actor with a full-time corporate job, I cannot emphasize enough how much impact having a supportive wife has. This last show absolutely kicked my ass for a lot of reasons, and that of course impacted her.

Daily writing prompt Share what you know about the year you were born. View all responses The one thing I know for sure about the year I was born is that my birthday, November 7th, 1972, was the day that Richard Nixon was elected for his second term as President of the United States of America in an absolute landslide. The only President who has done better in modern times was Ronald Reagan in 1984 (which happened the day before my birthday).

I deactivated my Facebook and Instagram accounts over two years ago. I did so for several reasons, most of them revolving around my mental health (i.e. if I wanted to stay sane I didn't need to see the shit I was seeing on Facebook, particularly things involving my family).

“The number one movie when you were 10 years old is how your 2026 is going to go.”

Childhood memory of the day - Singing “Keep on the Sunny Side” and telling bad jokes around the campfire in Boy Scouts. Realizing as an adult that it was basically a Hee Haw skit.

I'm on pins and needles today waiting for results from my latest CT scan. This will be my third, marking 1.5 years since I had my PNET removed. I'm anxious for the results because I've had some very strange neuropathy issues going on in the last few months.

I estimate that I have not had a Subway sub in at least the last 14 years. No particular reason why other than the fact that my wife does not care for them. I had an offer for a free one as a Disney+ subscriber so I decided to see what was up with ol’ Subway for lunch. A few observations…

How Capitalism is supposed to work: T-Mobile creates a tool that easily allows consumers to compare their current AT&T plan to one on the T-Mobile network. If consumers like what they see, T-Mobile makes it easy to switch to their product. AT&T responds by improving their products and services.
T-Mobile disables automated switching app for AT&T customers
T-Mobile stops automated version of Easy Switch for AT&T customers after legal challenge, while Verizon says the tool raises customer privacy concerns.

TFW you are just casually listening to VNV Nation and thinking about nothing when Ronan cracks you across the base of the skull with some sad as fuck lyrics.

I dunno. Maybe if he actually went to bed instead of staying up all night posting on Truth Social this wouldn’t be a problem.

I know, I know. Crazy talk.
Trump dozes while Marco Rubio speaks to him directly next to him. Just insane optics.

Honestly? The best uses I have seen for AI revolve around doing those things that executives used to have secretaries for. Watch any old school TV show with a business angle - the boss would tell the secretary to send a letter about x and just add the standard polite fluff to it.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.
