Bad Day at Black Rock is a very good film about a town that conspired to cover up murder and a disabled war vet who tears the whole system down. Also, Ernest Borgnine absolutely get his ass handed to him.

America, you aren’t going to vote your way out of this. The empire doesn’t care about your votes.

Drove from Missouri to east Texas yesterday and I can’t believe how beautiful eastern Oklahoma is. The Boston and Ouchita mountains might be America’s best kept secret.

I watched Salt of the Earth, a film made by a blacklisted director about gender, racial, and economic liberation.

‎‘Salt of the Earth’ review by Michael Frizzell • Letterboxd
“I don’t want to go down fighting. I want to win.” This is a good movie. Made by blacklisted filmmakers knowing it wouldn’t be seen in a McCarthyite America, it has themes of racial, sexual, and economic equality. It might not hold up to modern standards, but it’s definitely worth watching.

New York Times is trying to manufacture consent for a war against Venezuela. It’s like we’re back in the early 2000s and no one has learned anything and we’re doomed to repeat this endless cycle until we destroy the whole planet.

I just watched Caveat, a pandemic looking movie with some creepy visuals and a good performance by Ben Caplan.

‎‘Caveat’ review by Michael Frizzell • Letterboxd
The main character kind of under reacts to insane things happening around him which takes a lot away from the movie. Ben Caplan is very good, though.
