Then Josh has done a read with a great visual element from Anna zooming in on Newton Aycliffe - where the majority of the town centre is owned by one holding company:

‘You’d be ashamed to bring someone here’: The struggling billionaire-owned high street that shows Reform’s road to No 10
Newton Aycliffe was meant to be a model town for a fairer postwar Britain. But unaffordable rents on a high street amounting to 0.12% of its property tycoon owner’s holdings have made it a symbol of d...

That's alongside a piece with @joshhalliday.bsky.social, which combines our analysis of changing high streets with recent @drjennings.bsky.social polling data on people's perception of their local area, and what it might mean for politics

Labour risks election wipeout unless it improves Britain’s high streets, study finds

It isn't - but maybe I should write one!

I charted my statements the other month, as someone on the first year of £9k fees I think I hit a point with interest that the debt just doesn't go down despite changing jobs twice with decent pay rises in that time

This looks interesting - I can't access the whole paper unfortunately. I can totally believe that prior perceptions would affect whether people thought an action was more legitimate or not - but does the paper show it affecting what actions people actually saw happen?
