In some cases, they would be accruing more compensation from the private sector than the public sector, essentially still being primarily employed by the private sector, working on ways to decrease governmental oversight on the sector in which they sre primarily employed.

Starting from this problematic premise, the MPO is recruiting staff kn contracts (i.e., seconding) from the very companies that would benefit from these sorts of projects. Admittedly, this might be somewhat unavoidable, still distasteful.

The Major Projects Office is intended to fast track private sector mega infrastructure projects, allowing said projects to bypass existing legal requirements if said project is deemed ‘of national interest.’
