Now, here’s the kicker: the companies whom the federal government is poaching from are being asked to, get this, top up the salaries of said appointees.

Starting from this problematic premise, the MPO is recruiting staff kn contracts (i.e., seconding) from the very companies that would benefit from these sorts of projects. Admittedly, this might be somewhat unavoidable, still distasteful.

The Major Projects Office is intended to fast track private sector mega infrastructure projects, allowing said projects to bypass existing legal requirements if said project is deemed ‘of national interest.’

It seems that the real issue is that hr committees for directorial hires don’t seem to reach out to the community their potential hires come from. There’s a list of dropped-jaw “they got another job really?” Reactikns out there.
