Great job this evening by Chris Loughlin on his talk on Presbyterian radical and trade unionist William McMullen. A fascinating story of a republican socialist who stood for the NILP, led the ITGWU, joined Republican Congress and entered Seanad Éireann. Well done Chris!

Great to get my hands on Clara Mallon and Salomé Paul's new edited collection from Routledge on Working-Class Women in Irish Literature and Theatre, to which I was delighted to contribute a chapter on JustUs's 1990s play 'Just a Prisoner's Wife'. Comhghairdeas Clara & Salomé!

Well done to our students today on their rally in support of bilingual signage - something that threatens nobody. QUB has made great strides in promoting inclusivity and Gaeilge over recent years; no doubt this is another measure that will enhance inclusivity and tolerance in a great uni. #Gaeilge

A big crowd gathering in No Alibis, Belfast, for the launch of Charles Lang's new poetry collection The Oasis. This one is a personal favourite. What a writer.
