Doing my due diligence. Inkarnate has stepped back on their plans to allow AI assets. Very relieved.

Or wanting to thwart a dragon's breath weapon by sneaking milk into its water supply and making its throat all congested.
Players already gravitate toward these kind of things but in my experience monster hunts encourages this behavior even more so.

Don't forget about the environment either. Interesting environments are the bread & butter of fun combats & that goes double for those where eliminating your enemy isn't the goal.
Lastly, prepare and reward WHEN they pull out shenanigans. Using a thunder a spell to "blind" a Bulette's tremorsense.
