My cicada tattoo and a cicada larvae! Different species, though both native to the same area. Tattoo is a dog day annual cicada, larvae is a brood X 17 year cicada.

It’s >600 pages long and *this is the draft* so it is subject to change, however these are a strong start. The EJ mitigation measures are very high level though, hoping to see some more detail there in the final. We do get a recommendation for low carbon boats, though.

The CA offshore wind draft PEIS is out! It includes some very good protections, avoidance, minimization, and mitigations for birds, bats, and marine mammals. And also a decent outline for environmental justice community communications and impact mitigation plans!

The future of federal offshore wind leasing is looking uncertain, especially with an incoming administration led by people who commonly spread wind energy misinformation. Offshore wind can be (and is!) built responsibly with strong marine mammal & enviro protections, + strong community benefits

I was thinking about the election as I was working on it. The attempts at stopping American fascism, and the maybe inevitability of it all. I suppose despair and frustration are my creative juices
