Maine Craft Association has a membership of over 500 Maine artisans. Their site lists upcoming shows, plus they have a retail store - Center for Maine Craft - at the rest stop in Gardener where 95 and 295 meet. mainecrafts.org

I usually oxidize sterling silver pieces, but I like the natural silver color for these lighter color pendants. The sunflower hair fork also has enough detail that it works well without oxidizing.

My nice evening in my jewelry studio ended with me deciding that I didn't like one of my pendant designs.

Wish it had happened before I started cutting the silver instead of after I finished and set the stones, but shit happens, ya know?🤷‍♀️

Sterling silver pendant. The focus of the pendant is a stone in a modified triangle shape - the two short sides are straight and the long side is gently curved to form an arch. The stone is set on a teardrop shaped round wire and at an angle so the arch is at the top. The wire has little globs of fourteen karat gold melted onto it. The stone is a milky white and inside it are fine, straight dendrites that look like brown hair.

The Zakim Bridge in Boston. Taken from the highway, approaching the bridge, this angle shows the nearest concrete pillar almost head-on, with the far pillar almost obscured. The pillars form a roughly 30 degree angle and join to form a sigle tower at the top. The cables on this bridge are white and go from the base of the bridge up to the pillars. Sterling silver pendant designed to represent a mountain in the desert glowing from a rising sun. The main stone is an offset triangle shape, it has narrow horizontal bands of pinks, oranges, and yellows. To the upper right of the stone there's a rond citrine gemstone, which is yellow. The bottom third of the silver background is stamped with small dots and lines to represent a desert and the horizon. The top third of the sivler background is stampes with small curved shapes to represent birds in flight. The top edge of the silver is three gentle curves meant to represent the upper edges of clounds.

Sonoran Dendritic Rhyolite is from Sonora, Mexico. 'Rhyolite' is a rock formed from silica-rich lava. 'Dendritic' refers to the feathery pattern in the stone. The dendrites in this stone remind me of cascading wisteria.

Sterling silver pendant. This is a heart shaped stone set in a fancy bezel called crown gallery bezel wire. This is because the wire looks like the top, pointed edges of a fancy crown. These pointed edges hold the stone is place. The stone is a pale pink with details called dendrites. Dendrites look like a pattern of fine feathers. The dendrites in this stone are a very dark pink. They fan out across the top of the stone a down toward the middle, so they look like branches of a flower-covered vine. The parts of the stone behind the dendrites are white, which makes their dark color stand out more.

Here's another example of Stefoinite. The black pattern in the stone looks like a leafless, dead, tree perched on a rocky hill. I paired it with a rhodolite garnet and named the piece after the blood moon - 'Red Moon Lunar Eclipse Pendant'.

Sterling silver pendant. The stone in this pendant is a narrow triangle shape and is brown and black. The black part covers most of the bottom of the stone and looks like it the top of a hill. There's a strip of black from the top of the hill to the top of the triangle. This strip has little black branches - imagine a map of a river with tiny tributaries. The overall look of the black is of a dead tree with small branches perched on the top of a rocky hill. The stone is set on a textured round silver wire. At about the one thirty position on the round - as in the time on a clock face - there is a round pinkish red gemstone. The stone represents a moon that turns a red color during an eclipse.

In the 1950s Rudy Stefoin and a couple of friends discovered a vein of a tan, brown, and black jasper in Wyoming. They named the stone Stefoinite and never revealed the location to anyone. Both Rudy and the location of the mine are gone now.

In the center is a large oval stone. The stone is tan, brown, and black, and the pattern of the stone resembles the hammered texture of the silver.
