Depressing and distressing that this needs to be done. Encouraging to see the amount of support.

Yesterday had end of year party at work followed by a super fun gig and this morning blew off the dust by going for a paddle and a swim. Cleaned the unit, had a nap, watched Dune 2 and just got back from fish and chips down by the water in the golden sunlight. Cup is full. ♥️

So what can you do, no matter where you work?
• Over-communicate

• Plan ahead to give people time to consider your message

• Before meetings, start a thread or document

• After meetings, document discussions and outcomes

Async isn't just for meetings

Selling point #1 of being remote and async - hard pants optional (trackies FTW!)
You get more time!! Behold Anton's work calendar with 3 meetings per week as a lead 🥹

Can we use types to describe the context? Can we teach the computer about the context?
Some languages allow this. Can reveal presence or absence of dependencies.
December 6, 2024 at 12:59 AM
String to string is the worst type signature ever. If you take away one thing it's to scream when you see this in code 😂

Don't put semantics on a wiki page, put them in your API spec.

We can create a graph that we can walk without having to build anything in advance.

So, what's better? We need a Thing in between the systems. It needs to connect on demand. It has to adapt to change.
There must be No Glue Code.
