‘O’ level English 1978 consists of Roman Britain, William the conqueror, a bit about the civil we and the glorious revolution and finally a bit on Victorian industry.

What Farage and his ilk fear is the notion that woke teachers are telling the kids that Britain was basin its empire building.

Good points - though the monarchy has survived worse

Rather than a straight abolition, people might prefer a transition like the Scandinavian monarchies where there’s only the immediate family of the monarch on the payroll? I believe Prince William is in favour of such a monarchy?

He’s the leader of the party and it’s his job to make sweeping statements. The nitty gritty of actual policy is something the party will come up with.
