She didn't just do this because she was dying. She ALWAYS stopped to smell flowers, and she would always, reflexively say "I just love how they all smell different". She never met a flower she didn't love.

We did get to go to a friend's wedding a few months later, and since we didn't have a cake and they did have a decorative cheese, she had the great idea that we would get a photo taken while "cutting the cheese", which I subsequently told her was a euphemism for flatuence

Married in front of 22 people and then back to a pub for finger food, wanted to be married but was willing to delay the party for a few years, wanted to be married more and didn't want to be planning a wedding and raising 3 kids in nappies at the same time.
