They expect a rigged criminal justice system consistently benefiting a specific demographic to suddenly not function that way, which is just...odd. The case needed to be established more than anyone else, and that takes time. 🤷‍♂️ Things that would normally be effective won't be in this context.

Yet they don't get worked up over things like essentially getting rid of the the mechanism of federal funding that localities use that allows them to secure and update their voting systems. Things they can't afford on their own. But sure...let's go with shit up there with unicorns shitting cookies.

BTW, do you run into a lot of "he is going to cancel the elections" ppl? There's another one. Like poof...suddenly a nation of Sec of States and State Legislators are gonna be like, "Cool, done. We didn't need those state and local positions filled anyway, and pffft about any ballot measures."

I'm an election worker, and wish that people who are concerned would consider doing the job. It gives great insight into the process, and makes one realize how bananas some of this rhetoric is. Or volunteer with orgs that address voting/suppression. Maybe the DO SOMETHINGS would get a clue then. 🙄

It's frustrating that people are focusing on the wrong things. As you said, they fixate on what's not going to happen and ignore the stuff that can and will. It's like the media talking about him "nationalizing" elections as though it's a thing. Constitution aside, the logistics are impossible.

They don't, but it bothers me when Trump is given credit for strategy he doesn't possess, as well as the dismissal of the effort exclusively to be cruel toward a demographic of ppl without a different endgame. Ppl are also pretending that voter suppression and intimidation has suddenly materialized.

While I'm sure there will be ICE around during the midterms, the Administration is doing this for the sake of the cruelty toward immigrants. That is an end onto itself. And let's not forget that his supporters have been going to polling places and intimidating voters for years. ICE isn't necessary.

They've been getting kicked out of everywhere they've been sent, which is conveniently not getting attention. Minnesota just the latest. If this where midterm election strategy, it would have started right when people were voting. Sure, there would be lawsuits, but the damage would have been done.
