Born before dawn on a bleak December morning, Cupid Amore Valentine is hailed by the people of Mourningveil as a blessing sent from the heavens. Offering not the hollow sermons of old men, but truths Cupid has secretly yearned for all her life. Promises of freedom, forbidden knowledge, and a destiny far greater than the small, provincial life chosen for her. Like Eve before the fruit, Cupid reaches for understanding without knowing its cost. For all knowledge demands a price, and nothing, faith, love, nor soul, is ever truly free.
