I think aside from the most shameful members like Vance and Miller—perhaps them as well—to every participant of this collective self-gaslighting there is no more difference between subjective and objective good. Trump is law and law is deportation, deportation is truth and truth is owning the libs.

And this isn't a complete overhaul of objective reality even though it gets so close to it. There is just enough imitation of every step of the pursuit of objective truth——evidences, debates, pseudo-critical thinking——that to them it feels like the same thing. That's what makes it dangerous.

I have a theory that for a substantial portion of politically engaged people today, it is better to think of a specific person and then describe their entire politics as "hating this person."

The fact that Candace Owens could just make the most unhinged conspiracy theory claims and backstab every major figure of the American Right and still retain a substantial following is bad for the Right and probably not that good for the country.

Generally, as a cultural matter, I think the sort of 'knowing cynicism' of the 90s has run its course and as a culture, we need to move back to sincerely, to openly owning and loving what we believe.

The problem with winning all branches of the federal government while denying reality is that you start to think denying reality is a solution that would work for all of your problems.

You still did not answer my question.
No one is saying that illegal immigrants themselves automatically get US citizenship. For all that matter they are not really relevant because the 14th Amendment didn't say anything about who a citizen's parents should be.

"whom the United States had SOLE JURISDICTION."
Notice how you have to change the actual language of the Constitution to mean this.
Also, what other allegiance does a baby born on US soil from immigrants owe?

Who is a Chinese citizen is entirely up to Chinese law, as does every other country.

You said earlier in the thread that foreign citizens are not covered. So I asked you what happens if every American suddenly just got foreign citizenship, because whether they have foreign citizenship or not is not up to the United States at all.

What is special about them compared to immigrants, then? Because China certainly doesn't have to care about who has US citizenship or not.

"It's not about the baby."
It literally is about the baby.

If China passes a law that immediately vests every American Chinese citizenship, would that make every new child born ineligible for US citizenship from now on?

The 14th Amendment notably did not say anything about how citizenship is affected by whom a person is born to.

Actually, forget about that, what sovereignties are their kids subject to.
