for the unfamiliar, this theme was applied to the Nintendo Switch Online webapp over the holiday season, on both Switch 1 and Switch 2. it had custom sound effects on both but actual music and a snowfall animation on Switch 2

personally i've hypothesized for awhile that nintendo waited until the Switch 2 to introduce personalization and such specifically so that it could be marketed as a reason to upgrade (as there would obviously be a stark difference between personalization on Switch 1 and personalization on Switch 2)

my hope personally, especially after that little Happy Holidays theme over Christmastime, is a formal announcement surrounding the introduction of themes. in my eyes there is no way that the theme wasn't applied to gauge interest
