As for the emotional part, being on the Online side of gamedev it always hurts to know that eventually, hosted backends will have to be shutdown and the cultural piece we worked so hard to create will disappear.

And by the way the dual-binary nature of the game is something I still mention as a war story, and was the most practical approach as we were building the multiplayer in Annecy, in parallel to the main team in MTL, with our own fork of the engine to make it multiplayer. (3/4)

Eg. I am at the point of the video where Mimak shows the Quazal RendezVous DDL, which is one of the thing I did not expect to be extracted that accurately. I had completely forgotten that Virgin Tournament to this day!
