I can empathize with decent people in the US, but from the outside (I’m from Portugal) it it just America and an electorate that elected Trump twice and may elect other mobsters like him in the future (de Santis, Vance, Cruz, Cotton, Noem, Miller, et al).

We’re specifically angry because the so-called 2/3 decent americans are not doing enough and are merely pinning their hopes on the 26 midterms that might already be totally compromised. Where are the general strikes? Weekly mass protestes? Massive civil disobedience? Nothing.

Read the US security strategy. It’s a whole of government and aligned oligarchs effort. We are effectively at a cold hybrid war between the US/Russia and Europe/EU/NATO. America has fallen.

Yeah, we are backsliding all around the world. The US is just the (huge) canary in the coal mine. The thing is that you guys used to be the standard and the world (Europe for me) feels really dark with a mobster, Putin loving America. Things will never be the same. The GI Joe myth is over.
