The passport thing is for the people who say no when asked if they are a US citizen as non citizens are required to have their documents on them at all times.

Not to be disrespectful of your experience but they very much do ask if you are a US citizen. I've never been through one of these checkpoints where they didn't ask "Are you a US citizen and where are you heading?" Heck I was in Laredo a month ago and got asked that exact question on my way home.

To me the book feels like a tribute to millennial tumblr fanfiction writing from 2011. And I mean that with both love and criticism. If that was not your scene then it might not hit the way it does for diehard fans

People have a hard time describing the book because it slices through so many genres. Best Ive heard it described is fantasy scifi gothic horror mystery romance with excellent world building. It’s my favorite book Ive read in the last two decades

A diversity of voices is always a good thing but especially in creative works. I feel like I have read more interesting novels in the last decade than I did in the first 20 years of my life. Not that there weren’t good books back then they just were so much more infrequent.

Even on top of the persecution complex the hot take of self publishing ruining the industry is wild. Oh no more authors can reach their fans with less barriers. The horror.

Yes. Back in the day I had two friends I made on a paintball forum visit me from the opposite side of the country and it was amazing. We have remained close for the last 15 years.
