Early on (1-10?) can be rough since you start naked and have no survival advantages over any other class. Once you get your gear and build going it's fine.

I should mention that windows built in formatter doesn't support >32gb FAT32 thus the reason for the util

You should be able to use any SDHC memory card formatted to FAT32, but it gets slow >128gb. Cards larger then 32gb tend to come in exFAT and you'll have to manually format them to use them with 3ds/wii.
